Gender Violence Monitoring Unit
The Gender Violence Monitoring Unit (GVMU) is a component of GVRC. The unit spearheads data collection and analysis for report writing and has developed an elaborate computer Based data management system that has allowed the Centre to compile experiences from women, children and male survivors of gender-based violence.

The objectives of GVMU

To develop an elaborate computer Based data management system that allows the Centre to compile experiences from women, children and male survivors of gender-based violence

To identify the specific factors which act as drivers of GBV in Kenya and categorize them as short-term and medium-term and has noted that they have a tendency to change from time to time.

To provide statistics to human rights organization to advocate and lobby for policy review and reforms.

Understanding the short and medium-term factors is important because it allows those wishing to address the issue to understand the patterns of gender violence in society at any time, and to then devise suitable short-term and medium-term measures for addressing this form of violence
